Myanmar junta troops stationed in an embattled border town have withdrawn from their positions, a spokesman for a Myanmar ethnic armed group and a Thai official told Agence France-Presse on Thursday.

The Kaman people are one of the 135 ethnic groups accepted by Myanmar’s government.
Yet they face widespread discrimination, have been described as a “cancer.” Many have been kicked out of their Rakhine homeland as part of an “official” relocation to Yangon.
