‘Pay or flee’: Forced recruitment in Kayin State

Forced recruitment and extortion by various armed groups have become rampant as fighting escalates in Kayin State, prompting young men to flee to neighbouring Thailand to avoid conscription. This week’s story is by journalists from the Karen Information Centre.
