Episode 37: An after class culture

This week’s episode looks at the issues in the country’s education system, particularly the culture of after class tuition in schools. This practice, known as Kyu Shin, is often viewed negatively in Myanmar, as it is closely associated with corruption, and as part of the failings of the education system.

We speak with students, families and tutors who have spoken out against this practice.
