Caring for the elderly is a growing problem in Myanmar. Increasing numbers are being forced to leave their family home because they are a financial burden. Some end up on the street where they are forced to beg and earn money for their family. Freedom of expression is a fundamental right. But the military regime in Myanmar has repressed independent media, jailed journalists, and cracked down on internet freedom.
