An executive order by United States President Donald Trump has halted foreign aid programmes around the world, sowing chaos among the humanitarian community and its beneficiaries in Myanmar and Thailand.
Myanmar refugees have been deterred by harsh farm work in eastern Thailand, far from the camps and their families, but aid workers say more job options will become available as bureaucracy is eased and more employers hear of the programme.
