The drug epidemic caused by conflict and lawlessness in Myanmar after the 2021 coup has crossed the border to Thailand, with more refugees uprooted from their homes and families falling into addiction than ever.
Myanmar refugees have been deterred by harsh farm work in eastern Thailand, far from the camps and their families, but aid workers say more job options will become available as bureaucracy is eased and more employers hear of the programme.
