The United Nation's special envoy for Myanmar is to embark on an Asian tour to step up diplomatic efforts to tackle the crisis, as the death toll from the military's crackdown on dissent passes 600.
Myanmar's military-backed regime said Sunday their United Nations ambassador – loyal to ousted leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi – is occupying the office illegitimately, as the organisation prepares to weigh his replacement.
