Podcast: A criminal lack of water

This week on the Doh Athan podcast; more tensions over water rights, this time for farmers near the Alaungdaw Kathapa National Park in Sagaing Region.

Failing crops and drought, due in part to climate change, have led to farmers taking matters into their own hands. Some farmers have been arrested for the theft of teak from the forests. Others are demanding agricultural tube-wells from the government, but haven’t seen any action.
