Rohingya refugees who have made perilous sea journeys from Myanmar and from refugee camps in Bangladesh face discrimination, harassment and detention in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries.
Malaysia has finalised the first phase of a voluntary repatriation programme involving eligible Myanmar nationals, with almost 1,500 individuals expected to return home on September 29, the government said on Thursday.
