Episode 86: A land confiscation legacy continues in Sagaing

Issues regarding land grabs are nothing new in Myanmar, and residents in Sagaing Region’s Kawlin Township are currently trying to reclaim land they lost to a government project in 1979.

The project the land was taken for never materialised, and residents of Kawlin said they are in discussions with officials over land that they say is rightfully theirs.
