Across Myanmar, female involvement in politics remains strikingly low, with one report published last year finding that the number of female candidates running in the 2018 by-elections was less than 10 percent of the total.
This week, in partnership with Mon News Agency, Doh Athan speaks to some of those women involved in politics in southeastern Myanmar and asks what more can be done to encourage more women to take an active role.
