NAY PYI TAW — Two people are believed dead after a bomb blast at a Yoma Bank branch in Lashio late on Wednesday afternoon.

“The building’s upstairs and downstairs were damaged and the neighbouring Ayeyarwady Bank was also affected,” a police officer at the scene, who asked not to be named, told Frontier.

“Seven victims have been hospitalised including one with serious injuries,” he added.

AFP reported that two were confirmed dead in the 4pm explosion, which detonated on the upstairs floor of the branch.
