Myanmar regime's military chief met Thursday with Thailand's top general in Bangkok in his first foreign trip since assuming the role, as his coup-staging armed forces attempt to shake off their pariah status.
Severe monsoon flooding has swamped villages and paddy fields in central Myanmar, forcing people out of their homes including those already displaced by war, an Agence France-Presse reporter and the United Nations said.
