The National Unity Government is organising regional administrations in areas under its control in central Myanmar, but questions linger about their effectiveness and how well they will coordinate with armed groups.
Severe monsoon flooding has swamped villages and paddy fields in central Myanmar, forcing people out of their homes including those already displaced by war, an Agence France-Presse reporter and the United Nations said.
