An official from Myanmar's junta-stacked Union Election Commission said on Thursday that the results of its upcoming and widely disputed national poll were expected by the end of January next year.
Severe monsoon flooding has swamped villages and paddy fields in central Myanmar, forcing people out of their homes including those already displaced by war, an Agence France-Presse reporter and the United Nations said.
