Malaysia is encouraging undocumented migrants to hand themselves in on the promise to repatriate rather than detain them, but many Myanmar migrants fear being arrested on their return or forced to serve in the military.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Wednesday he will invite Myanmar's coup leader turned ostensibly civilian president Min Aung Hlaing for an official visit in a bid to expedite the repatriation of Rohingya refugees.
