An economic downturn exacerbated by the regime’s own disastrous policies is hampering efforts to recuperate loans given to businesses by the ousted civilian government.
Malaysia began sending back around 1,500 Myanmar nationals on Tuesday, the government confirmed, as it launched a scheme that rights groups say may endanger migrants by returning them to the war-torn country.
