Riders for online food delivery service Foodpanda have gone on strike, accusing the German-owned company of slashing rates while putting workers in danger as they navigate Myanmar’s increasingly dangerous cities.
The stark reduction in international funding for Myanmar nonprofits since early last year has left legal aid and advocacy groups with huge budget gaps, reducing their capacity to conduct their work and making their future uncertain.
