When the killing of defiant protesters began in Myanmar earlier this year, it prompted an evacuee from Beijing after Tiananmen to recall a sign in a Hong Kong jewellery shop 32 years ago.
China and the Myanmar regime have pledged to expand trade and security ties, especially along their border, during talks in the Southeast Asian nation with its junta chief-turned-president and both countries' top diplomats, the two governments said.
