New satellite imagery suggests that the burning of villages in northern Rakhine was conducted by members of security forces, not by villagers as the government has claimed, New York-based Human Rights Watch has said.
The Myanmar military has razed dozens of villages in the Rakhine State township to make way for Chinese development projects, displacing tens of thousands and offering few benefits for the local population.
