The government’s recent move to have thanaka added to UNESCO’s cultural heritage list comes as farmers are clearing plantations to grow a product in high demand in China.
China and the Myanmar regime have pledged to expand trade and security ties, especially along their border, during talks in the Southeast Asian nation with its junta chief-turned-president and both countries' top diplomats, the two governments said.
