A rift has emerged in the alliance of ethnic groups known as the United Nationalities Federal Council, focused mainly on the so-called Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement.
A blast in northern Myanmar killed dozens of people on Sunday, two rescue workers said, with the resistance group controlling the area saying it was caused by the accidental detonation of mining explosives.
