A senior Htoo Group official says damage to wiring at the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel was the reason why some fire alarms failed to activate during a blaze on October 19 in which two people died.
On May 31, a massive warehouse explosion in Kaung Tap village, in northern Shan State’s Namkham Township, damaged hundreds of houses and killed dozens of residents, leaving survivors to deal with the aftermath and leading some to wonder whether it is even worth rebuilding.
