Volunteers with community service ambulances in northern Shan State are taking big risks to help others in conflict zones – and sometimes pay with their lives.
On May 31, a massive warehouse explosion in Kaung Tap village, in northern Shan State’s Namkham Township, damaged hundreds of houses and killed dozens of residents, leaving survivors to deal with the aftermath and leading some to wonder whether it is even worth rebuilding.
