Photojournalist Hkun Li documented the aftermath of deadly floods in Kachin State’s Waingmaw Township, an area already plagued by conflict and crippling blockades by the regime and China.
The junta has pledged elections beginning on December 28 and has touted them as a path to peace with its myriad adversaries – from ragtag pro-democracy partisans to semi-professional ethnic armed organisations.
